What personal information do we process? Unless you register on the site and login using a supported authorisation platform, we collect no personal data other than the usual network and browser information. If you register for zettel.io we ask for a first name and family name along with an email address. We do not collect or require passwords, we use third party authorisation platforms. The personal information those platforms provide us access to is minimal and controlled by you the user. The only information we store from those platforms relates to the account name and access tokens granted by those platforms.
Do we process any sensitive personal information? We do not process sensitive personal information.
Do you receive any information from third parties? In importing notes from other platforms we will often access those platforms using the same kind of authorisation mechanisms as we do for logging you in. In that case we will have access to some profile information, controlled by you the user and that platform. We do not currently store personal information from those platforms other than the account and access tokens..
How do you process my information? We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent. We process your information only when we have a valid legal reason to do so.
In what situations and with which types of parties do we share personal information? We do not share personal information with any third parties except in relation to the access to other platforms either for the purpose of authorisation or the importing or exporting of notes actioned by you the user.
How do we keep your information safe? We have organizational and technical processes and procedures in place to protect all your information including personal information. There are no certainties in this but by using authorisation platforms we have reduced the risk of unauthorised access to users’ data.
What are your rights? Depending on where you are located geographically, the applicable privacy law may mean you have certain rights regarding your personal information. Regardless of your rights as a user of Zettel.io you have the absolute right to be forgotten and for all your personal and owned data to be removed. How do I exercise my rights? You are not limited to any particular method in making a Data Subject Access Request but the simplest way is to email privacy@zettel.io.
